Porsche Race Car Donation “Pays it Forward” to WOT
By Jim Weidenbaum | SCCA Foundation Board of Directors

“Pam’s generous donation will help fund the continued growth of the Women on Track scholarships and mentorship programs that are helping to lower the barriers to entry to SCCA racing in all forms.”
Pam Susslin is an adventurer and a competitor, but more than that she is a generous and gracious individual, especially thankful for those who have helped open doors for women race car drivers. When not pushing herself summiting a mountain, skiing down a slalom course, or racing down a single-track bike trail, Pam loved nothing better than racing her Porsche Spec Boxster (PSB). Though not an SCCA member, she was so impressed by SCCA’s Women on Track program she looked further into the SCCA Foundation where she also discovered outstanding programs such as Tire Rack Street Survival for teen drivers. When a chronic vision condition recently ended her ability to continue competitive motorsports, she generously donated her race car to the SCCA Foundation to be used as a fundraiser.
“Pam’s generous donation will help fund the continued growth of the Women on Track scholarships and mentorship programs that are helping to lower the barriers to entry to SCCA racing in all forms,” said SCCA Foundation Chair Jeff Jacobs. “And the added financial support for teen driver education through the Tirerack Street Survival program comes just in time for the launch of our 2025 schools across the country.”
Pam’s Porsche has been professionally maintained by ex-Andial Racing’s Dwain Dement’s Vision Motorsports, a Porsche-only race car shop in Laguna Hills, CA. The car has recently been race-prepped with a rebuilt motor, refreshed cooling system, and brakes. The car should be fully race-ready to roll off a trailer and go racing subject to inspection and updates of driver safety equipment. The car is currently stored for the Foundation in Camarillo, CA, thanks to the kindness of Mike Hamrick and Wilwood Brakes, who made extra space available for the Foundation’s use. Tom Berry also generously helped with the transport and storage of the car after picking it up at Vision’s shop.
The Porsche Spec Boxster is a fun, safe, reliable race car which has been granted favorable competitive adjustments to race in SCCA Touring 3 road racing competition and – new for 2025 – Touring 4, as well as being legal for SCCA Time Trials. The Boxster has its own dedicated race class with PCA and can also race with NASA, ChampCar, POC, endurance racing series, and more.
“Our plan is to welcome offers to purchase the car through April 18th via our web page,” explained Jacobs. “If we don’t receive a reasonable offer or enough interest, we will look to list the car using an auction service.”
