COMMITTEE REPORTS
Tire Rack Street Survival - Melanie and Howard
Schedule for schools being worked on
20 schools have been scheduled for 2025
9 schools have been completed, with audit forms still needed on 3 of the schools
Working with a few Regions interested in getting their schools going again
Sites continue to be an issue – ie Hawai’i Region, South Carolina
Abby is currently working on a better way for minor students to fill out the online minor waiver form. Better contact with minor students and parents needs to be worked on. Zoom meeting with Abby, Aimee and Melanie is being planned for the beginning of June on this topic.
Philly schools have encountered an issue where any minor MUST have a parent or guardian present at all times. Quoting from JR: “Our Philly area Street Survival schools are hosted by University and College venues, and if parents leave unattended minors with our program, both of these institutions would require a substantially increased level of insurance requirements and our program would need to conduct background checks on all of our coaches and staff. If we require parents or guardians to remain in attendance with their minor participant, the program no longer has “control” of the minor, and these requirements are not necessary.”
Executive Committee
Jeff has asked that committee members review the Ops Manual draft and reply to Jeff and Arnie any changes or edits to the draft prior to the next meeting in June.
Fundraising Committee
Donations via Map were higher this April as compared to 2024.
Singapore Grand Prix Sweepstakes winner is a new SCCA member from New York Region. We will have details on the amount raised at the next meeting. Winner will be attending the race with his wife and a follow-up story will be done by Jim Weidenbaum to post on the SCCA Foundation website.
Jeff is awaiting information on the availability of the Monaco Super Yacht trip again in 2026. Vendors have been contacted about a possible 24-Hours of LeMans package. The next sweepstakes will start in July.
The May Donor Newsletter was sent via e-mail, featuring the Learning Management System.

Seven grant applications have been received for quarter 1 and 2 so far. There are two grant applications that will be pursued further.
At the direction of the SCCA BOD, work will continue on the Region Development Grant for the current quarter and for the quarter for which applications close on May 31. The program will be put on hold thereafter while further consideration is given to the direction and effectiveness of the program.
VETMotorsports / Formula SAE / Museum of American Speed, Lincoln
VETMotorsports
There has been good success with the Track Night in America and Time Trials programs with the VETMotorsports group.
FSAE
The fall meeting in Lincoln, Nebraska is scheduled for October 11-12. Raleigh will be attending and has requested that some of the marketing people with SCCA also attend. He would like to have Langley Clark, Andie Albin, Andrew Benaugh and Brad Smith attend to represent SCCA and bring in a younger perspective of the club.
May competition went well with 125 schools attending.
Museum of American Speed in Lincoln
The SCCA display will be at the Museum until the end of 2026. It will soon be time to start thinking about the next SCCA display at the Museum. Pro Racing is a possibility.
Raleigh, Howard, Linda and Velma stopped at the Museum during Spring Nationals at the end of May so Linda and Howard could see the SCCA display and other areas of interest. Howard was able to see the Hall of Fame Kiosk that they have installed for the various Hall of Fames that reside at MAS. Howard took pictures and indicated that this is exactly what he had envisioned for our Hall of Fame.
Plan is to still have Mike Cobb do one of his quarterly reports from the Museum yet in 2025.
