The written report of the committee is attached and was reviewed by the Board during the meeting. Website still needs to be worked on with graphics, pictures. Working with Bandy on this project.
TIRE RACK STREET SURVIVAL COMMITTEE
7 schools ready to go on calendar. Scott Dobler is working with organizers with the online sanctioning process. Site availability can still be an issue as some of the larger venues continue to be used as vaccination sites. If a Region has not had events all last year, they may opt to do Solo events vs. TRSS. Videos for getting Regions and organizers back on track for TRSS have been posted.
ARCHIVES COMMITTEE
The written report of the committee is attached and was reviewed by the Board during the meeting.
WOMEN ON TRACK
The written report of the committee is attached and was reviewed by the Board during the meeting. Sydney Yagel to work with Jeff Dahnert on grants for reimbursement.
VETMotorsports
The SCCA Camaro has been used at one Solo this season. Pete Cline with VETMotorsports has gotten more people involved to help lighten his load. CEO is Dan Parker in the Kansas City area for the day-to-day operations. There are 6 directors that report to Dan. The CAM Challenge in Peru will be the next time the SCCA Camaro is used. Arnie suggest that any mention that VETMotorsports makes, they always thank the SCCA Foundation for their support. It was suggested that WOT follow this lead as well. Dan Dennehy is helping with insurance issues with Hagerty.
FORMULA SAE
The Michigan FSAE competition is scheduled for July 8-10 at Michigan International Speedway. Currently they are struggling to get teams to the venue due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel. There are currently 44 registered for Michigan. The Carroll Smith Award will not be awarded this year. Clancy Schmidt will be taking a trailer to Michigan for support there. Arnie is wondering if SCCA needs to be offering more support. Is there a better way to follow up with students on becoming SCCA members?
OLD BUSINESS
Arnie waiting on a quote from a vendor for head socks to be available for purchase when loaner helmets are being used. Rick Myers and Race Quip are working on getting this information. May be available through merchandise on the SCCA website. The SCCA Foundation is not involved right now. There may be a few helmets left and if so, these will be donated to the VETMotorsports group. No objections to this proposal. Arnie will check the status
NEW BUSINESS
The potential for a Foundation booth at the Runoffs, along with a WOT booth as well. Several people would be available to help. Partner with Shirts101 to share space with them. OK to ship any items to the Boreens.
Call from James Rogerson regarding effort with handicapped individuals, supplying a car and opportunity at a school. Identify opportunities for handicapped people within SCCA activities. Encourage and facilitate new people to participate.
Green Power and the progress in activities with this program discussed. Personnel and procedural issues were a problem in the past. Personnel change has happened. Perhaps re-engage in Green Power in the near future. James had a request for a grant on builds with cars.
Meeting adjourned at 8:04 pm
Respectfully submitted,
Velma Boreen
