Meeting was called to order at 8:05 PM Eastern Time

Approval of May minutes with a correction was motioned by Bob, 2nd by Raleigh. Motion passed. The correction was to make sure the heading indicated that these were the minutes and not the agenda for the meeting.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Jeff Dahnert will forward the report to all

Second payment of $15,000 to the IMRRC was made

  • If any additional one-off funding is needed, they will let us know

Donations to the Foundation for April were $8,000 and for May $5,500.

  • These donations came through the member portal when memberships were renewed.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Welcome to Jim Weidenbaum as the newest member of the Foundation board

  • He will let the committee know of any particular projects he would want to help with.

  • Arnie and Jeff will be in touch with him.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The launch of the two raffles/sweepstakes for SCCA have taken place.

  • There was some confusion on the part of the management with COTA and what the first raffle prize was all about.

    • COTA has asked that this be taken off the table. The funds that have been raised will become a 50/50 split. Those who have purchased a chance at that will be given the option of receiving their donated amount back. The drawing will take place on Friday, June 18. In the future, we need to make sure donors are aware of exactly what and how the prize is going to be used. Suggestion by Mike Cobb was to use the SCCA Marketing team in the future.

  • Jeff will reach out to Tim Suddard to help out with other experiences.

  • The IMS package is being ironed out. Raleigh will put together an agenda and send to everyone on the board for input. This will include a four-day package of fun and frivolity at IMS during the Runoffs.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Foundation is getting good support from the SCCA staff.

TIRE RACK STREET SURVIVAL COMMITTEE

Currently there are 10 schools scheduled – 5 SCCA, 1 PCA and 4 BMW

  • Venue availability continues to be an issue

  • Organizers are struggling with the online sanctioning process

  • We are still waiting on the new curriculum from BMW.  It probably won’t be ready this year

  • Jim asked about doing the classroom session as Zoom meetings

    • BMW would like to keep things the way they are currently

    • Training via Zoom is something that could be done in advance to allow for a half day behind the wheel session. This would take some expenses off the table and commitment from the students for an all-day session.

ARCHIVES

Update/renewal of agreement with IMRRC took place on June 1.

  • There were some changes to the original agreement but all approved and signed between IMRRC, SCCA Inc. and the SCCA Foundation. This amendment needs to be posted to Board Max and email agreement to all parties.

  • IMRRC still working on a new director. Jenny Ambrose is the Interim Director. They hope to have this position filled by September 1st.

SCCA Display at the IMRRC

  • Hall of Fame boards were sent to IMRRC for the SCCA display at the IMRRC. All 19 boards, dating from 2005-2021, with 98 Hall of Fame Inductees, were sent.

  • 1953 photo of annual convention also sent to IMRRC

  • Two banners measuring 4’ X 25’ have been manufactured and will be on the fences at the Watkins Glen track through mid-September. Several televised races will be taking place at Watkins Glen so great opportunity to get some TV time for SCCA and the SCCA Foundation

  • Reece White has done an article which will be on the website and go out in the Kerrie Speed weekly e-mail.

  • An article on the IMRRC display is available on Racing Archives.org and the IMRRC Facebook page.

  • Cost for the display is $1,000. A donation has been made by Duane Rost to fund this project.

  • September 10-11 is the IMRRC dinner. Jim Weidenbaum indicated he would be interested attending this dinner. John Walsh and Jerry Warnarka will also be contacted to see if they are available to attend.

 WOMEN ON TRACK

Tere’s report is attached

Women On Track to help with a booth at the Runoffs.

Suggestion was made to contact Linda Pobst to see if she would be interested in being involved with WOT.

 VETMotorsports

There will be four veterans running the SCCA Camaro at the CAM Challenge in Peru

The participation by veterans has been on a Regional rather than National level this year.

FORMULA SAE

The western competition is taking place in Vegas with 30 teams involved.

The July event at MIS has 40 teams entered.

  • SCCA will be supporting this event with a trailer from Topeka

  • This event will be difficult to support because of the time of year

2022 should be a better year for Formula SAE.

OLD BUSINESS

  • There will be an SCCA Foundation booth at the Runoffs. The plan is to have it near Shirts101. Rick Myers is making those arrangements and Arnie will co-ordinate the schedule

  • There is a transition taking place with the National office and the BOD regarding a new platform to take the place of Board Max.

  • Bob asked about the status of the Leno-Peterson Museum package. Jeff will check and report next month.

  • Suggestion was made to use SportsCar to publish information about the sweepstakes/raffle and any other business that the Foundation is involved with. Arnie/Jeff will get the dates that information is needed to get into SportsCar.

Next meeting is July 15th at 8 PM Eastern Time. Meeting adjourned at 9:31 PM
