INVITED: Jeff Dahnert (SCCA, Finance), Lyn Hodges Watts, (BOD Liaison), Velma Boreen (Minutes)
Meeting was called to order at 8:02 PM Eastern Time
Approval of June minutes with a correction was motioned by Bob, 2nd by Tere. Motion passed. The correction is the cost of the display at the IMRRC is estimated at $2,000. The donation by Duane Rost has been committed but not yet completed.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Jeff Dahnert will forward the report to all
Stock donation has been completed
Proceeds were approximately $5,200.
Payout for sweepstakes is being processed. Jackie Mutschler will be receiving a W-2.
Request for legal letter by Carla
Foundation is a Type 2 organization
Legal legwork can be expensive
IRS Determination Letter was sent to Carla.
501c3 is how the board is organized
Jim W. will work on this with Carla
There are two other documents that can be used
Helmet inventory indicates $0. However, there may be 6-8 helmets still in Rick’s office.
Waiting on one Region to get in touch with Rick
Will check once again with the VETMotorsports group on their need for helmets
Question about donations made to SCCA, with SCCA Foundation programs earmarked
Is there any type of acknowledgement that goes out to the family of the deceased person?
Jeff Jacobs will check with Frank on this question
Is there a handling cost on penny donations made when membership is renewed online?
Jeff Dahnert will check with Aimee on the possibility of putting in a minimum amount
Motion was made by Raleigh, 2nd by Jim to approve the Treasurer’s report. Motion passed.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Executive Committee Report attached
Discussed plans for individual donors, corporate sponsors, grants from other Foundations
SCCA Foundation presence at PRI December 9-11 in Indianapolis
Get banners made for the SCCA Foundation
Can use at Solo Nationals, The Runoffs and PRI
Discussed in-person meetings
Plans for 2022 convention are 100% virtual as of now
2023 could return to more of a face-to-face convention
Cost of face-to-face meetings are very high
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
Fund Raising Report attached
COTA Sweepstakes was stopped
Message sent to all who entered and no one wanted their money back
Indy Experience has raised $3,300 so far
Drawing is August 29th
Continue working on finalizing the agenda
Met with Mandy at the IMS Museum to keep them in the loop on the plans
Museum would like to have some acknowledgement during the Runoffs and on any other social media to draw traffic to the Museum during the Runoffs.
Raleigh will get the agenda sent out as plans are finalized
Eric Prill has submitted a grant to the SCCA Foundation for artwork. See attached request.
Discussion took place on how to fund this artwork and recoup some of the expense.

How does this fall into the purpose of the Foundation and our mission?

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
Communications Committee Report attached.
New Website
Jim W. will head up website design on Foundation
Need for better graphics
Consistent look and feel across the board
Need to contact Kristen Poole to get her involved
Need to highlight areas the Foundation is involved with
TRSS, WASF, WOT, VETMotorsports
TIRE RACK STREET SURVIVAL COMMITTEE
Schools are scheduled
Waiting on revised guidelines from BMW regarding COVID vaccination
ARCHIVES
Display at the IMRRC is a success
Advertising at track and media blasts
Budget is $2000 - $2500
Have spent $1785 to this point
$900 shipping boards to Watkins Glen (same amount to ship back to SCCA)
Duane Rost will cover cost of shipping display
Bob will inform Duane of status
2 large banners cost $813. These banners will belong to SCCA after mid-September
Banquet in September at the track
$2500 from Foundation and $2500 from INC.
Jim W., Bob and John Walsh will be attending
Meeting with Jenny Ambrose on September 10th will be arranged
Status of our archives
WOMEN ON TRACK
Women On Track Report is attached
A grant has been received, requesting $3500. Grant request is attached
The grant would be used to purchase give-aways for women at the Solo Nationals, RallyCross Nationals and the Runoffs.
The artwork will include the Women On Track logo and the SCCA Foundation logo.
A motion was made by Bob, seconded by Tere to grant the Women On Track Committee up to $3500 for this project. Motion passed.
VETMotorsports
VETMotorsports Report attached.
Request for $10,00 in the next few weeks.
Motion made by Raleigh, seconded by Tere. Motion passed
Vets have been very active at local events
Decision was made that the ProSolo format was not the best place for Vets to try an event
4 Vets will be at the CAM Challenge at Grissom running the SCCA Camaro
Will check with Dan or Pete about the extra helmets at SCCA.
FORMULA SAE
Formula SAE Report attached.
Both competitions in the US are complete
Vegas had 40 teams and 3 days of competition
Michigan had 52 teams
SCCA sent the Match Tour trailer with Clancy Schmitt
Decision was made to not award the Carroll Smith Cup this year
OLD BUSINESS
There will be an SCCA Foundation booth at the Runoffs. The plan is to have it near Shirts101. Rick Myers is making those arrangements and Arnie will co-ordinate the schedule
Question is the tour of Jay Leno’s garage took place
Bob will do some checking.
NEW BUSINESS
SCCA Foundation stickers will be ordered
Arnie has a quote from a local vendor
SPS will also be given the opportunity to give a quote
Next meeting is Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 8 PM Eastern Time.
