Meeting was called to order at 8:03 PM Eastern Time

Motion to approve the July minutes was motioned by Carla, 2nd by Tere.  Motion passed.

FINANCIAL REPORT

See attached report.

$107,000 contributions year to date

  • + Net assets of $50,000

  • Members contributing to the Foundation during their membership renewal

  • Runoffs registration had the option of members contributing

  • Solo Nationals did not have that option

    • This option will be brought up with the Solo department for 2022

Investment account is long term that would have more interest compounded. 

  • Jeff is finalizing this investment

Motion was made by Bob, 2nd by Jeff to approve the Treasurer’s report.  Motion passed.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Executive Committee Report attached

Runoffs Plan

  • 10x10 pop-up for SCCA Foundation use in vendor row

    • One page handout and the new SCCA Foundation stickers

    • Have SCCA Inc. information available also at the pop-up

    • Obtain an SCCA Foundation feather banner

Arnie has 250 of each of the stickers and will distribute to board members

  • May need to order more after Runoffs for PRI

Discussion regarding the 2022 National Convention

  • Convention will be virtual

Need to get a “place holder” for any sessions the SCCA Foundation wants to host.

  • Archives, Tire Rack Street Survival, VETMotorsports, Women On Track

Pre-recorded presentations have been well received with a “live” feed after the session for questions and answers.   

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Fund Raising Report attached

Indy Experience has raised $7,000 so far

  • Final push before the August 29th drawing

  • Different Promo Codes have been used to track where the donations are coming from

    • Promo Codes indicate where our marketing money is best spent

  • Continue working on finalizing the agenda

    • Raleigh did an email introduction of Mandi at the IMS Museum to Kritsin Poole with SCCA.

  • IMS Museum will provide information about the Museum in the driver’s packets

  • Kerry Speed Article

  • There will be 3-4 people on the tour

    • Jon Krolewicz will tag along at the official photographer for the tours

  • Announcers will be promoting during the Runoffs

Donation of Stock

  • John Osteen is the donor of the stock

    • To be used however the SCCA Foundation sees fit.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Communications Committee Report attached.

New Website

  • Jim W. will head up website design on Foundation

  • Motion was made to allow up to $4,550 for a new design on the SCCA Foundation portion of the website by Bob, seconded by Carla. Motion passed.

TIRE RACK STREET SURVIVAL COMMITTEE

Schools are scheduled

  • Waiting on revised guidelines from BMW regarding COVID vaccination

  • Monitor location situations

  • Currently 2 SCCA TRSS are full

    • September 12th – Philly Region

    • October 10 – DMVR

      • DMVR working on getting another school on 10-9

Tire Cleaning at Solo Nationals

  • These donations come back to the SCCA Foundatiion

    • Foundation will cover the cost of the meter and water used

      • This cost has been approximately $500 in the past

      • Check with the city of Lincoln on a discount since the Foundation is a 501c3

ARCHIVES

Items from R. David Jones collection are boxed and ready to go to IMRRC

  • Bob working on a plan of shuttling these boxes from Texas to Watkins Glen

    • Motion was made to cover the expenses associated with the transfer of R. David Jones’ memorabilia from Texas to IMRRC/Watkins Glen. Motion made by Jeff, seconded by Raleigh.  Motion passed.

  • Bob has also offered to bring the Hall of Fame pictures that are currently at the IMRRC and the 2 4x25 banners that are at the track back to Topeka.

  • Banquet in September at the track

    • Jim and Bob have 2 meetings scheduled in September with Jenny Ambrose regarding

 WOMEN ON TRACK

Women On Track Report is attached

  • Sunscreen and wine glasses for Solo Nationals, the Runoffs and RallyCross Nationals have been received

  • Work is being done on a Wendy Allen Scholarship Fund logo

    • Jennifer Schwartzoff’s father is a graphic artist.  Jennifer is on the executive committee for WOT.

    • Will also talk to Scott Dobler about a design

  • Women On Track presence is being discussed within that committee about presence at Solo Nationals and the Runoffs

  • Discussion of the Wendy Allen Scholarship Fund and Mazda’s contribution to a third scholarship took place.

  • Bob will talk with Lyn St. James about the WOT program and potential for her involvement with the program.

 VETMotorsports

VETMotorsports Report attached.

  • Vets have been very active at local events

  • Frank Schwartz has been in contact with Kia/Hyundai regarding donating a vehicle for Solo events for Veterans to use

  • Insurance issue has been worked out with Hagerty

  • Military sites still possible, with a proposal put together for Regfions

  • Will check with Dan or Pete about the extra helmets at SCCA

FORMULA SAE

Formula SAE Report attached.

  • Formula SAE Report attached.

  • Raleigh presented a grant request for leadership conference during PRI for Formula SAE teams. The grant request is for $2,000. Any amount over $2,000 would be picked up by Formula SAE. Motion was made by Bob, seconded by Carla. Motion passed to award the grant request.
