Meeting was called to order by Jeff at 8:03 PM Eastern Time.
A motion was made by Bob, seconded by Raleigh to approve the August meeting minutes. Motion passed. A motion was made by Tere, seconded by Jim to approve the September meeting minutes. Motion passed. The minutes for those two months will be forwarded to Rachel to post on the SCCA Foundation website.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Jeff Dahnert provided the committee with a report on donations to the SCCA Foundation for September.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Executive Committee
The Foundation Display at the Runoffs was handled by Arnie.
Good contact with people, 15 x 15 pop-up, thanks to the staff for helping.
Two serious contacts were made regarding TRSS and Legacy Giving.
Budget for 2024 is due by October 31, using 2023 budget numbers as a starting point for the committees.
Discussion will take place during the November meeting.
LMS with SCCA was discussed regarding training for corner workers at events.
Does IMSA have the ability to help get corner workers involved?
Identify tracks close to large
National Convention is virtual again in 2024.
January 18-26, 2024
SCCA Foundation has time slots for programs.
The video from 2023 regarding the IMRRC will be used again at the 2024 convention.
Tire Rack Street Survival
Melanie reported on the status of the program.
14 schools completed, 5 schools scheduled, continue working on Puerto Rico school.
Raleigh asked if there is a step-by-step instruction sheet that could help Regions wanting to put on a school if they have never hosted a school or if it has been several years since their last school. Both Melanie and Jim indicated that they have those forms and will share with the group.
Venues for TRSS continue to be an issue for most Regions.
Discussed financial situation with BMW and what they have been billed for and what has been paid.
Melanie working with Phyllis at the SCCA office to develop a better plan to keep track of schools that have taken place, invoices to BMW and when Regions have been reimbursed.
SCCA has paid for several schools and is waiting for reimbursement from BMW.
Fundraising Committee
September donations were lower than anticipated.
Continue working on ideas for 2024 sweepstakes.
Raffle off a car has been successful for the IMRC.
Still under consideration is an Ultimate Sim Racing Rig.
If this is something the Foundation wants to try, the Foundation would not have to pay for it or order it unless the sweepstakes reaches a minimum level of donations.
Discussion took place regarding working with ACCUS again about a race package to COTA.
Communications Committee
Legacy Society
Jim has an article ready for the SCCA Foundation website on legacy giving.
Jim will work with Aimee Thoennes to get the names of registrars to potentially help with legacy stories.
May pull in Brian Bielanski and his podcasts.
Jim has seen the videos that Adam Brooks has produced and was very impressed.
Jim also received an update from Robert Chrismas on the display at Solo Nationals in the Danley Building.
Discussed the “Sitting in the Garage” articles that Raleigh does for the Clutch Chatter for Indianapolis Region. Will have links to those on the SCCA Foundation website.
Kristen has opened up the SCCA Foundation Facebook page to allow a few more people to post on that site.
Archives
Still no replacement for Jenny Ambrose at the IMRRC.
The IMRRC board continues to work on finding a replacement.
With GROW being the theme for the convention in 2024, this may be the time to consider more funds go to the IMRRC.
Give more detail on what the IMRRC does, what people can do to help, what types of information is still needed at the IMRRC.
Col. Pearson has contacted Howard regarding videos that were made while the Solo Nationals and the Runoffs took place in Topeka. He will get these videos to Topeka. They will be forwarded to the IMRRC.
Consideration to allocate more funds to the IMRRC to get all of the SCCA information organized.
Current financial agreement with the IMRRC continues through June, 2026.
Need to review our level of funding with the IMRRC.
IMRRC is working on a capital program for their new building.
Zoom meeting was held with Bob, Raleigh, Howard, (SCCA Foundation Board), Mark Weber (SCCA BOD member), and three employees from the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln: Tim Matthews, Laura Dittmann and Jason Leubken.
Purpose was to discuss the future of the SCCA display at MAS.
The Solo display will be there through September 2024 with a new display moving in shortly after that time.
MAS continues to work on the best place for the SCCA display within their museum.
Videos of the various programs with SCCA are well received.
IMRRC will partner with MAS to make the next display as successful as the Solo display has been.
Another call is scheduled after the first of the year.
The SCCA Hall of Fame was also discussed on this call.
MAS would prefer to make this be a display with videos of those in the SCCA Hall of Fame rather than photos on the wall. The desire is to make it more interactive.
Women on Track
The social at the Time Trial Nationals was successful.
Jackie Mutschler and Laura Marcus were able to get several great door prizes to be given away.
The women who worked the corners at the Time Trial Nationals also attended the social.
Approximately 45 women came to the wine and cheese gathering.
Natalie Haizlip, the scholarship winner for Time Trial Nationals, spoke with Reece White about the experience she had at the event. That article appeared on the SCCA website the next day
The group will be working on their budget for 2024.
Next full group call will be in November.
Will begin the discussion on the WOT presentation at the convention.
Region Development Grants
Need to emphasize the importance of Regions justifying their requests when writing a grant.
§ Need to pay close attention to what the grant funds are being used for.
3rd quarter grants were announced the end of September.
Several Regions have requested funds to help with AED and first aid training.
Each Region will need to check the guidelines that their particular state has for administering first aid and using an AED.
Any grant requests for Tire Rack Street Survival will go through TRSS rather than the Region Development Grant program
VETMotorsports and Formula SAE
Both groups are working on 2024 budgets.

Old Business
Raleigh mentioned the article in Classic Motorsports that Tim Suddard wrote about the Dunias Corvette. More articles to come as Tim continues on this journey.
New Business
Kristen asked if anyone on the Foundation needed business cards. If so, send information to her and she will get them ordered.
Arnie will continue to work on an operation manual for the Foundation board.
This will include term limits.
Plan is to have it completed by the end of 2024.
