Invited: Kristen Poole (SCCA Marketing); Jeff Dahnert (SCCA, Finance); Peter Schneider (BOD Liaison); Melanie Murray (TRSS); Velma Boreen (Minutes)

Meeting was called to order by Jeff at 7:59 PM Eastern Time.

A motion was made by Raleigh, seconded by Tere to approve the March meeting minutes. Motion passed. The minutes for March will be forwarded to Rachel to post on the SCCA Foundation website.


FINANCIAL REPORT

February report was sent out to the board in March

Audit for SCCA begins on 4-22

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Tire Rack Street Survival - Melanie

Four schools have been completed so far in 2024

  • Waiting for the audit on Tennessee Region School

  • Indianapolis, Mohawk and Philly Regions have schools scheduled for this coming weekend

  • Des Moines Valley and South Carolina Regions have schools pending

  • Several other Regions have indicated tentative dates through the end of 2024

Sponsorship contract is close to being finalized

  • $750 is their sponsorship, with that amount being retroactive to Regions that have already held schools in 2024.

Waivers continue to be an issue.

Executive Committee

Weekly calls with Kristen Poole continue

Plans for a once-a month mailer to donors is in process. Andie Albin will share the draft for that mailer.

Fundraising Committee

Donations to the Foundation continue to be good

  • Jeff Dahnert has started a year-to-year comparison tracker

The Women on Track committee raffle for an SCCA silver wheel pendant has started and will end Memorial Day

  • Jeff will work on a QR code for this newest raffle.

The committee reviewed potential sweepstakes packages.

  • Three packages were presented. Jeff asked that each member look at the packages for more information. This next sweepstakes will take place, starting on June 1st through November or December.

Arnie, Jeff and Kristen have a meeting scheduled with Mark Steigerwald with the IMRRC on April 24th to learn more about their marketing plan and budget involved in regards to the Corvette that was their most recent sweepstakes.

  • Further discussions will take place during the May meeting after deciding which of the sweepstakes packages the Foundation will offer in June.

Communications

Letter from Roger Beam, SCCA sweepstakes winner for the Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR weekend has been posted.

Sweepstakes information on gold and silver wheel for the Women On Track program was posted.

  • Jim drafted an article for SCCA, Inc. on the Pulliam’s donations of the two medallions.

Jim continues with website, Facebook articles and use of AI.

  • After much discussion as to what can be done, the “Pause” button was pushed.

    • SCCA, Inc. and the SCCA Foundation will need to work together on this project.

    • Kristen is in charge of the Inc. website side and has asked the Foundation to wait before going forward.

Archives

The Cameron Argetsinger Banquet is scheduled for September 12th in Corning, NY at the Corning Owens Glass Center.

  • Jeff, Arnie and Bob will be attending the banquet

  • A request for a meeting with the IMRRC staff has also been requested.

Women on Track

March History Month went well.

  • §  46 new followers on the FB page from the previous month.

The sweepstakes for the gold pendant raised $2675. Sweepstakes for silver pendant is open and will close Memorial Day.

Working on getting the cooler bags distributed.

Emily is working on ideas for updates to the Women On Track webpage and would also like to work with the new National office team to get more visibility for the Women On Track program.

Developing small scale mentoring programs with individual Regions.

Discussion to get specific organized days or events for Women On Track

Discussion regarding scholarships and possible rental gear.

  • Should this be a program encompassing the entire club, not just Women On Track?

  • Tere will send information to Arnie.

Region Development Grants

No second quarter applications have been received.

VETMotorsports and Formula SAE

VETMotorsports on hold for now.

The SCCA trailer will be at Formula SAE in Michigan for both the May and June events.

  • The Carroll Smith Award will be award at the May event.

  • A 1099 will be sent to the recipient to fill out.  When Jeff Dahnert has received that, a check will be cut to the recipient.

The current Solo display at the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln is scheduled to be there through the middle of September. 

  • §  The next display will run from September/October 2024 for 18-24 months.

  • There is a Zoom call scheduled for April 23rd to begin finalizing this newest display.

Old Business

Ops Manual is being worked on.

Raleigh asked about the SCCA Foundation email.

  • Vance with IT may need to get involved.

  • Kristen will ask.
