Meeting was called to order at 8:07 PM Eastern Time

This is Jason Isley’s last meeting with the Foundation Board. Thank you for serving as a BOD liaison. The Board welcomes new SCCA Inc. BOD liaison Bob Zursch.

Approval of prior minutes was motioned by Bob, seconded by Tere. Approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT

See attached reports for September and October

Solo Nationals Test and Tune at Solo Nationals

  • Jeff Dahnert will look into when the donation is coming

Donation from member for Region specific programs

  • There are rules prohibiting donors who make QCDs to a charity directing that the funds must be used for a non-501(c)(3) entity. The nonprofit board must make the decision on the use of the funds. We will work with donors about making directed donations to the Region Development Fund and SCCA Regions submitting grants for Foundation consideration.

  • Motion to approve financial report made by Raleigh, seconded by Carla. Motion passed.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Proposal for funding learning system not ready yet. Need to talk with Chris Robbins and will present to the Board of Directors in 2022.           

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Update on registration as charitable organization

  • Many States require the charities to register to prevent fraud

  • All documents signed with each state is complete.

  • Hired outside firm to keep everything updated with each state

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

See attached report

Website update

  • January launch

  • One point of contact

  • Anything newsworthy in the programs to keep information flowing send to Rachel at Sport Creative.

TIRE RACK STREET SURVIVAL COMMITTEE

A call with BMW took place on 11-17

  • Need payments for schools that have already taken place

  • Sponsor contributions to schools – BMW working on this

Tire Rack is still involved with Street Survival

ARCHIVES

  • Jenny and Bob are working on a virtual presentation during Convention

  • Photos at the 801 Storage unit were taken. Arnie will share with the group

 WOMEN ON TRACK

Tere was on Zoom call on 12-7.

  • Path for the future and convention were discussed

  • Much of the planning depends on budget approval

VETMotorsports and FORMULA SAE

  • Meetings are scheduled for VETM to plan 2022 events and budget

  • FSAE will have two competitions in 2022, both in Michigan, but there has been less need for SCCA Foundation involvement without an event in Lincoln. Raleigh is maintaining a line of communication to determine future needs.

  • VETMotorsports will be having a seminar at the 2022 SCCA Convention

OLD BUSINESS

National Convention planning

  • Jenny Ambrose with the IMRRC will be making a presentation

  • Women On Track has a scheduled slot

  • VETMotorsports will have Pete Cline

  • Tire Rack Street Survival will be headed up by Scott

  • The SCCA Foundation session will be an introduction to the Foundation

Vacancy on board and no VP, which is an appointed position

  • Board members should think about skill sets we need to round out the Board and possible candidates.

NEW BUSINESS

2022 Draft Budget was presented by Carla

  • She will get the actuals through October added to her spread sheet

  • Review of 2022 budget categories and proposed numbers

  • Possibly two sweepstakes for 2022 if we can get prizes from FIA for F1 and possibly IMSA for an event.

  • Motion to approve 2022 budget was made by Jim, seconded by Bob. Motion passed.

Discussed need for donor management administration person. 

  • Added a placeholder in the budget for this position.
