Invited: Melanie Murray (TRSS Coordinator); Peter Schneider (BOD Liaison); Velma Boreen (Minutes), Kristen Poole (SCCA Marketing)
Meeting was called to order at 8:03 PM Eastern Time.
A motion was made by Howard, seconded by Bob, to approve the June meeting minutes. Motion passed.
The minutes for June will be forwarded to Rachel to post on the SCCA Foundation website.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Jeff Dahnert was unable to attend the meeting but indicates that the financial situation with the Foundation is status quo.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Executive Committee
Work continues on a source for another round of loaner helmets
OG is will to work with SCCA, as this would save staff time distributing the helmets
Arnie will talk once again with Holley
Holley has the same pricing for the helmets as before
The Dunias Corvette has been looked over by the Corvette shop in Carmel, Indiana and an appraisal has been done.
There is an offer from Tim Suddard with GrassRoots Motorsports magazine to purchase the Corvette.
A motion was made by Howard, seconded by Bob to accept Tim’s offer to purchase the Corvette. Motion passed.
Raleigh has the title. There are current plates and insurance on the vehicle.
Arnie will follow-up with Costa after confirming sale to Tim.
Until final plans have been made for delivery, the Corvette will be in Raleigh’s garage in Westfield.
Tire Rack Street Survival
Melanie reports that the program is doing well
8 schools complete, 12 schools scheduled, 4 schools pending
South Carolina will be requesting a grant to help with their event in November for site rental
Issue with online minor waiver form completion continues to be an issue
Check to see how BMW and Porsche clubs handle the minor waiver situation
Discuss with SCCA National staff
Gift cards are still on the books
Melanie will pursue this with Scott again
Melanie will be attending Solo Nationals and will be working the SCCA Foundation booth in the Danley Building
There will be an SCCA Foundation display at The Runoffs and Solo Nationals
Arnie will have space in the Danley Building in Lincoln
Pop-up being worked on to use at both events
There will be new brochures for the SCCA Foundation, Tire Rack Street Survival, program description, past issues of SportsCar
Fundraising Committee
June report – donations continue to be very good.
Sweepstakes for the Hendrick package is open and funds coming in
A Flash Price package was launched this week
Hagerty will include in their weekly newsletter, with a special code to allow tracking
Bob is working with Hendrick on having them post our sweepstakes as they can. They need to be aware of their other sponsors as well.
Communications Committee
Legacy Society moving forward – need to encourage longer term donations
The idea of a video booth at Solo Nationals may help with the Legacy Stories
The August BOD meeting will begin the discussion of the Hall of Fame becoming part of the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln. Raleigh has asked to included in that meeting to bring the BOD up to speed on this project with MAS. Will also be working on what the next display at MAS will be.
Archives
IMRRC continues with the search for a new archivist.
Discussed the August and September gatherings in Watkins Glen
The Cameron Argetsinger Award on August 18th will be presented to Richard Childress
Bob, Raleigh and Velma will be attending that banquet
Will request a meeting with the staff prior to the banquet
The September gathering is to celebrate 25 years of the IMRRC with an open house. That date is 9-30.
Jeff will be attending that banquet. Bob will be work with the IMRRC staff to potentially give Jeff a few minutes to make a presentation.
Women on Track
The guidelines that were shared with the board for the Wendi Allen Scholarship Funds look good and should help the committee with the process of how the committee works.
Jennifer Merideth has agreed to stay on as chair of this committee. She will be made aware of the guidelines that have been approved.
There will be placards in the Danley Building with information about women in Solo. Prior to manufacture, Andie Albin will be looped in to verify.
Region Development Grants
Third quarter grants will be announced the end of September
Two requests have been submitted, however Arnie is unable to see any additional requests.
Need to remind Regions of the grant program that is available.
VETMotorsports and Formula SAE
Raleigh has a call with Peter Cline next week for an update
There will be an FSAE electric car on display at the Danley Building
Cars on display range from the beginning of Solo Nationals in 1973 with Rocky’s Spitfire to the latest and greatest with the electric FSAE car.

Discussed the need for rain lights on Formula cars and the proposal that Jim W. made available to the committee
Discussed going directly to the manufacturer similar to how the loaner helmet program worked. Kristen will check on any conflict.
Need to verify supply and demand availability
Set up Zoom call with Dan, Arnie, Howard, Jim W., Eric Prill and Kristen to finalize.
