Meeting was called to order by Jeff at 7:01 PM Eastern Time.
A motion was made by Jim, seconded by Tere to approve the February meeting minutes. Motion passed. The minutes for February will be forwarded to Rachel to post on the SCCA Foundation website.
FINANCIAL REPORT - Jeff Dahnert
Jeff was unable to be on the call but will get the financials sent out in the next couple of weeks.
The 24-month CD is coming due soon.
Board recommends renewing for another 8 months and will let Jeff know.
Funds are due to the IMRRC and the LMS.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Tire Rack Street Survival - Melanie and Howard
Schedule for schools being worked on
17 schools have been scheduled for 2025
4 schools are being worked on
Working on getting Regions hosting schools to get them on the schedule as soon as possible
Working with a few Regions interested in getting their schools going again
Time spent at the Divisional Conventions went well.
Discussed the possibility of attending the Solo Nationals and the RunOffs
It seems that the majority of schools are hosted by Regions with strong Solo programs, it was decided that Solo Nationals is definitely a good event for Melanie to attend. The issue with the RunOffs is the location
Need to discuss donations to schools and how those donations are handled
Do they go through BMW, SCCA Foundation – needs to be verified
Can a Region Development Grant be used for a Street Survival School?
A couple of SCCA members have indicated that they have undeployed airbags that they would be willing to donate for use at schools. This will be checked into further regarding how to send, etc.
Executive Committee
A draft of a proposed term limits schedule was circulated for the board
Steve Strickland will discuss with Peter Bollenbecker and have a review by the BOD and may also get legal input.
Term limits vs. term duration
Operations Manual
Draft in progress has been circulated for discussion during the April meeting.
Legacy Giving Program
Outline seps for stronger implementation, possibly Trustee or Ambassador program
Fundraising Committee
Donations are on target for the year
Singapore Grand Prix continues until April 30, with the drawing on May 8
The email on 3-17 from the marketing department worked well
Spec Boxster Donation
Work continues on getting the Boxster sold
Legal indicates that all looks good
No racing history, no log book but this is a good track day and Time Trials vehicle
Information may be put on the SCCA website
Bring a Trailer/Racing Junk/ high bid format
Purchase of the Boxster is open to anyone – not just SCCA members
Jim indicates that the car is not street worthy

Communications
The SCCA Foundation website and communications have been highlighter on Facebook

Wendi Allen Scholarship Fund recipients were announced
Article about the IMRRC building fund
The Women on Track information is good
Archives
The IMRRC will be announcing their capital campaign soon on the building in Watkins Glen in early April
Budget, drawings, plans to be reviewed by the IMRRC board
More information for the SCCA Foundation board will be available at the April board meeting
IMRRC expects that have all of the driver’s information finished by September
Work will begin on Solo information when the Road Racing driver’s information is complete
The Cameron Argetsinger Award will be given at the banquet on September 4th.
Bob will be attending that banquet
Will be going through the information received from Nick Craw, R. David Jones and others.
There are approximately 30 requests for information per month from the research center, with 90% of these requests coming from SCCA members
Trans Am Hall of Fame at Sebring
Induction went well, with 18 drivers being inducted
All Trans Am Hall of Fame information will be stored at the IMRRC
Women on Track
Committee met on March 5
Wendi Allen Scholarship Fund recipients were announced on March 4, with a link to the article shared with Rachel, Jim and Velma
Committee is focusing on the planning for the coming year with each committee setting 3 goals for 2025.
The question was raised about how to handle scholarship recipients whose members has lapsed.
The SCCA Foundation was in agreement that membership renewal for recipients will come from their scholarship funds.
Region Development Grants
Nine grant applications were received for the 1st quarter of 2025
Four applications are eligible for consideration. The other applications were incomplete or from organizations outside SCCA
Wichita, Continental Divide and New England Regions are the Regions under consideration
There has been discussion to revamp the program and place a temporary hold on the program. Discussion will continue on this during future meetings
VETMotorsports / Formula SAE / Museum of American Speed, Lincoln
VETMotorsports
Several Zoom meetings have taken place over the last 30-45 days regarding details on getting more participation from VETMotorsports
Working with Aimee Thoennes on setting up a way to identify which of the participants at an event are from the VETMotorsports program. This would help to identify which of the participants come from the program and can be paired up with a mentor. May 15th is the target date to get this accomplished.
FSAE
The meeting in the fall to bring FSAE student up to speed on what is involved with their build.
This meeting will take place in Lincoln, Nebraska.
100 teams are expected to attend, with 3-4 from each school.
SCCA Foundation has committed $10,000 towards the meeting
We will have SCCA and SCCA Foundation presence at this meeting
Question was raised on how to get local Regions involved with the FSAE teams in their area.
Museum of American Speed in Lincoln
The SCCA Road Racing display is ready at the MAS.
The grand opening is scheduled for the weekend of April 25-26, featuring thew Unser Collection and the SCCA Display.
VIP open house on 4-25, public open house on 4-26.
Raleigh, Bob and Velma will be attending the Friday open house
Currently the plan is to have Mike Cobb do his quarterly president’s report from MAS to show and talk about this display.
Old Business
Question about the Monaco map was raised. Should that be sent to the winner of the Monaco sweepstakes?
Follow up – map has been sent to Geoffrey Keato in Atlanta, along with a letter thanking him for participating in the SCCA Foundation sweepstakes and to let him know that someone from the Foundation will be contacting him for his story and experience at the Monaco GP.
