PUBLISHED MINUTES

Meeting was called to order by Jeff at 7:01 PM Eastern Time.

A motion was made by Howard, seconded by Tere to approve the December meeting minutes. Motion passed. The minutes for December will be forwarded to Rachel to post on the SCCA Foundation website.

Question raised by Velma regarding the storage location for SCCA Foundation minutes. Is the Foundation website sufficient? Jeff will check into this and report at the March meeting.


FINANCIAL REPORT - Jeff Dahnert

Jeff was unable to be on the call but will get the financials sent out in the next couple of weeks.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Tire Rack Street Survival - Melanie and Howard   

Schedule for schools being worked on

  • 15 schools have been scheduled for 2025

Melanie has been at a few of the Divisional meetings

  • §  She will be attending the GLDiv meeting

Howard attended the SEDiv meeting in her place

MidDiv had 11 Regions attend her session

All payments are up-to-date

Executive Committee

Since the beginning of the year, Arnie and Jeff have had several conversations with various members of the SCCA. Inc. Board of Directors. They have also held an orientation call with new Foundation Board members and BOD Liaisons Peter Bollenbecker and Steve Strickland.

Arising from those discussions are the following projects the Executive Committee will advance in the next couple of months for further reporting back to the Foundation Board.

  • Draft a proposal for Foundation Director terms.

  • Operation Manual

  • Legacy Giving Program

Fundraising Committee

Jeff shared the donations report December and January

  • Yearly required distribution donation was made in January.

Next sweepstakes has already launched. 

  • Singapore Grand Prix. The drawing will be May 8, 2025.

  • The sales have been slower than the Monaco sweepstakes.

Spec Boxster Donation

  • Jim is working on a story to post on the Boxster.

    • He is working with the car owner and a follow-up with Mike Hamrick at Wilwood Brakes.

    • Currently no log book has been located.

  • Need to work on how to get the Boxster sold.

Communications

Credit needs to be given to for the photos at the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln and spotlight the SCCA display

Jim is working on the IMRRC Building Fund initiative story.

Archives

The sweepstakes for the IMRRC is finished

The IMRRC will be announcing their capital campaign soon on the building in Watkins Glen. This will include 3-5 years of operating expenses.

An anonymous $100,000 donation has been made to the IMRRC to digitize files in the next year. Clarification needs to be made on which files – SCCA only or other organization files as well.

Trans Am Hall of Fame at Sebring

  • Mike Cobb will be at Sebring and will be meeting with Tony Parella

Communications after the convention presentation were positive.

Women on Track

Sydney Davis Yagel is the new Road Racing/Volunteer committee member

There will be no March women in history on the SCCA website this year.

Idea regarding a Road Racing award similar to the Lynne Rothney-Kozlak award in Solo was discussed and will be brought to the next WoT meeting.

Region Development Grants

Two applications have been received for the first quarter but the information was not complete

  • Abby is questioning the need for the program in 2025. Does it need revamping?

  • Raleigh, Bob and Arnie will discuss this and report back.

Nine grants were given in 2024.

VETMotorsports / Formula SAE / Museum of American Speed, Lincoln

VETMotorsports
Track Night in America and Time Trials seem to be the best venue for the veterans. The time commitment is something they are willing to do.

FSAE
The meeting in the fall to bring FSAE student up to speed on what is involved with their build.

  • Tesla not involved this year

  • Raleigh is working the Convention and Visitors bureau in Lincoln for a Thursday-Sunday meeting.

  • Both SCCA Foundation and the CVB in Lincoln will contribute to some of the expenses.

Museum of American Speed in Lincoln

The SCCA Road Racing display is ready at the MAS.

  • The grand opening is scheduled for the weekend of April 25-26, featuring thew Unser Collection and the SCCA Display.

  • VIP open house on 4-25, public open house on 4-26.

Currently the plan is to have Mike Cobb do his quarterly president’s report from MAS to show and talk about this display.

Old Business

Question about the Monaco map was raised. Should that be sent to the winner of the Monaco sweepstakes? 

Kristen let us know that Andie was the liaison on the Women on Track committee from Kristen’s team.

New Business

Howard brought up the idea of term limits on the SCCA Foundation board.
