Meeting was called to order by Arnie at 8:01 PM Eastern Time.

A motion was made by Bob, seconded by Tere to approve the September meeting minutes. Motion passed. The minutes for September will be forwarded to Rachel to post on the SCCA Foundation website.


FINANCIAL REPORT - Jeff Dahnert

September financials were sent to committee members for their review.

Sweepstake ticket sales continue to do well.

  • Sweepstakes will close on November 30th.

Second half of 2024 payment for LMS is due.

  • Chris Robbins will submit an invoice for the $25,000 for approval

  • Jeff D. will set up an easier way to track this request for LMS.

It has been confirmed that the $1535.60 for the tire cleaning area at Solo Nationals has been deposited.

Statement from the estate of Tim Meddaugh funds to the Glen Region and the SCCA Foundation need to be taken care of with Jeff.

Motion was made by Jim, seconded by Bob to approve the financial statement. Motion passed.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Tire Rack Street Survival - Melanie and Howard   

Five schools were held in October

Twenty-four schools have been completed in the first 9 month of 2024.

Three schools are scheduled for the rest of 2024.

David Vodden has requested that Melanie get in contact with Hawai’i Region regarding the potential for a new site.

  • Hawai’i Region is losing their only site at the end of 2024

A new organizer kit is being work on.

  • Final draft will be sent to Tim Beechuk to have it ready for 2025.

David and Melanie will discuss the possibility of having TRSS at Thunder Hill.

Executive Committee

The Foundation display at the Runoffs was good. 

  • Arnie shared pictures of the display.

    • Kristen will order three SCCA Foundations banners to have available at future events.

  • Location was by Road America’s main gift shop.

  • Traffic picked up significantly during the Block Party and during race days.

  • Visits from several SCCA BoD members during the week.

  • Met with a possible contact for a future sweepstakes prize.

Weekly calls continue with Jeff, Arnie and Kristen.

October Donor e-mail is ready for distribution

  • October newsletter will feature Women on Track articles

  • November will feature the SCCA Archives.

Work on the budget is scheduled to start in November.

Fundraising Committee

Jeff shared the donations report for September.

Monaco GP Sweepstakes has had great success so far. 

  • Marketing efforts are continuing. Sweepstakes closes November 30th.

  • A question was raised about the number of emails that are being sent out to people who have participated in the past. Is the frequency of the emails and the type of prize being part of the sweepstakes making people wonder if this is a scam.

Communications

Articles on LMS, the Lake Superior Region RallyCross Grant and Jay Bullington’s donation from Solo Nationals are still pending.

Reposted article on the passing of Auggie Pabst.

Will post an article on Oregon Region’s Kim Kuzma McFarland’s America SHEro Award.

Responded to posted questions regarding the current sweepstakes.

Continue to clean out the spam on the website.

Archives

Bob made a motion to authorize payment of $644 for Bob Crawford’s expenses incurred while delivering materials to the IMRRC. Jeff seconded the motion. Motion passed. $322 will come from SCCA and $322 from the IMRRC.

Tony Pirella has proposed a Trans-Am Hall of Fame be set up at the IMRRC.

  • Several items/questions need to be answered

Women on Track

The Women on Track committees continue with their monthly Zoom calls

Jennifer Schwartzott has been the chair for the volunteers committee. Due to health reasons, she will be looking for either a co-chair or a replacement.

Taylor Hyatt with Road Racing reported that there were a lot of people in attendance at the Block Party. Amy Aquilante had a podium finish.

Samantha Steelman with RallyCross met with her committee and they will be meeting face to face at the RallyCross Nationals later this month.

Hilary Anderson with Solo will be stepping down as chair. They are looking for a replacement from within the group for 2025.

Jackie Mutschler with Time Trials was unable to be on the call but will be at the Time Trials Nationals the end of October at NCM in Bowling Green.

The committee will be asking Kristen to push the applications for scholarships in 2025.

Region Development Grants

o   No grants were given for the third quarter.

VETMotorsports / Formula SAE / Museum of American Speed, Lincoln

VETMotorsports
No changes since last month. No requests for help or funding.

FSAE
May 14-17, 2025 (tentative)

  • Michigan International Speedway

June 10-14, 2025 (tentative)

  • Michigan International Speedway, EV Only

Museum of America Speed in Lincoln

Dates are being finalized for delivering the next set of vehicles to MAS.

  • Currently the cars are scheduled to be there the end of October or beginning of November.

  • Display will be completed by mid-December.

The new display on SCCA, The Runoffs and Road Racing in America will be ready for viewing in December of 2024. This display will be in place for 24 months.

  • A video on the display will be available so that is can be used during the SCCA virtual convention in 2025.

All expenses for the Museum display will be in the 2024 Foundation budget.

Velma suggested that those who have had vehicles on display at the MAS receive a thank you letter for allowing their vehicle to be part of this display.  Velma will take care of that task.

Old Business

A question about putting an operations manual together was raised again. Arnie will work on that, provided he gets program descriptions from each of the program chairs. That message will be passed along.

New Business

The 2025 SCCA National Convention is virtual again. There are 1 hour time slots for the Foundation programs. If anyone needs help, please contact Arnie
